Mental health plays a key role in your overall physical health. Really, it affects everything: sleep, concentration, motivation, hormonal regulation, immunity and more. Mental health can impact preventable diseases like high blood pressure and heart disease, and make chronic conditions worse. And just like with physical health, improving mental health begins with prevention and taking action.

Our commitment is to normalize and integrate mental health care into your overall care. Because mental health is health, and we need to treat it that way. Half of mental illnesses begin by age 14, and most go untreated. When mental illness goes untreated, it can impact overall health well into adulthood. The good news is many mental health conditions are preventable and treatable.

Where to begin

If you are struggling with your mental health, a great place to start is by talking with your primary care provider. And find support right here, with lifestyle tips, resources to learn more about signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, and adult and pediatric expertise and programs. We are also investing in new programs, including our school suicide prevention program and youth behavioral health clinic.
