Why did you choose Spectrum Health?
Spectrum Health has diverse patient population, wide variety of cases and well structured didactics. Most of the colorectal surgery (CRS) faculty trained at different programs which translates for fellows being able to learning a wide variety of management strategies and technical skills. Since CRS fellowship is only one year in duration, it is crucial to train at a high volume center like Spectrum Health that provides exposure to full spectrum of CRS. The presence of APPs in the program allows more time for fellows to focus on their educational experience. Moreover, faculty here are very friendly and Grand Rapids is a beautiful city making this program my #1 choice.
What do you like most about your program?
I am specially interested in minimally invasive/robotic surgery, inflammatory bowel disease, treatment of anal incontinence, surgical treatment of both benign and malignant colon/ano-rectal disorders, and advanced endoscopy.
Clinical Interests: I am interested in advancing my robotic skills in colon and rectal surgery. I am also interested in advancing my skills in endoscopy and other minimally invasive approaches to colon cancer.
Living in West Michigan: I look forward to visiting the Great Lakes, beautiful gardens and experience a variety of other things that Grand Rapids has to offer.
Hobbies: In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and traveling.
