At Spectrum Health, we pledge to take on the challenge to eliminate racism and its impacts on health, hope and lives, both within our organization and in the communities we serve. In 2020, we have reaffirmed this commitment with a Pledge to Act. Racism is a public health crisis.
We are committed to creating an interconnected, collaborative culture where all are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work; it is vital to the health of our organization. As a health system, we advocate for equity as we care for our patients, our communities and each other.
From workshops that develop cultural intelligence, to our inclusion resource groups for people to find community and empowerment at work, we are dedicated to ongoing resources that advance our values of diversity, equity and inclusion in all that we do. We invite those that share in our commitment to join our team.
We want every medical student, resident, fellow and faculty member at Spectrum Health to feel included and respected. We are committed to fostering and advancing inclusion and diversity in our workforce, workplace, leadership, faculty and programs. We believe in equity for everyone.

Taking care of patients and our community hinges on our ability to attract, train and retain diverse and culturally intelligent resident physicians. We value inclusiveness and equity of opportunities for all individuals. As a system we have many moving parts; working together we can achieve and maintain a culture that fosters a sense of belonging, inspires innovation and provides equitable care.
