The blood and bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy program at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is the region’s only pediatric blood and bone marrow transplantation program and has been providing a multidisciplinary approach to transplant care since 1998. Our program facilitates potentially life-saving marrow, peripheral blood and umbilical cord blood transplants. We’re accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), which means that we meet rigorous quality standards for patient care and cell therapy treatments. Our unit has 12 private inpatient rooms that have a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter and are isolated to help guard against infection.
Our team consists of attending physicians, physician assistants, clinical coordinators, pediatric pharmacists, a program manager/search and intake coordinator, and a medical social worker. Each member of our team is devoted to guiding you and your family through the transplant process and to providing individualized, quality care. According to the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), our outcomes for transplants are consistently among the top tier nationwide.
