I’m not just another patient here.
After moving to Ludington a year ago, my husband and I weren’t sure where to have our first child. So we turned to friends who grew up here. They recommended the Family Birthing Center. We really liked the friendly staff. It meant a lot having doctors and nurses go out of their way to comfort us and answer questions when there were complications. After a c-section delivery, I’m healing well. We’re looking forward to laying down roots with our new baby boy.

They made me so comfortable, here.
I love to run, but I was being held back in my training by a persistent gynecologic problem. I was worried about what it might be. So I saw Dannie Gentry, MD, an OB-GYN right here in Ludington. After a thorough exam and some tests he gave me a number of choices. I decided a full hysterectomy was my best option and within days, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital had my surgery scheduled and all of my questions answered. I felt very confident in my doctor and my hospital for having the latest advances in surgical techniques. Ten days after surgery, I was back to running. And two months later, I achieved my goal by completing a half-marathon.—Melissa Feyers, Ludington
Life is complicated. Health care shouldn’t be.
Life is busy. From opening a new business to family priorities, keeping things as simple as possible works best for me. When I had a health scare years ago, I had to travel out of town to get the testing I needed. Today, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital offers comprehensive women’s health services—even tomosynthesis 3-D imaging technology in their Women’s Imaging Center. For women with dense breast tissue, 3-D mammograms can make it easier to see abnormalities, so testing is as accurate as possible. And, the 3-D procedure is performed just like a standard mammogram, right here in Ludington.
