Kids Burn Camp

Kids Burn Camp is a special week for kids ages seven through 17 who have suffered burn injuries. Created in collaboration with the YMCA's Camp Manitou-Lin, the camp is designed to help kids heal, physically and emotionally. The camp provides a safe, therapeutic place for your child to meet kids like him or her.

It's important for children to be with other kids who have experienced the same injuries, as well as the painful rehabilitation and social consequences that are a part of recovering from a serious burn injury. Along with the regular kids camp activities like horseback riding, canoeing and crafts, your child can gain social confidence and the ability to cope with life after being burned.

Thanks to generous donations from your community, any child treated at a burn center anywhere in Michigan is eligible to attend Kids Burn Camp at no charge. Visit the YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin's website for more details, including applications. You can also contact Kids Burn Camp Coordinator Kimberly Peters, BS, CCLS, at 616.267.0104 or by email.
