A hip fracture is a serious injury that can interrupt daily activities of living, like cooking or dressing. Usually occurring in older adults, a hip fracture is when there is a break in the thigh bone of your hip joint. About 90 percent of fractures happen to those aged 60 and older. Most fractures are categorized as femoral neck fracture and intertrochanteric hip fracture.
