Why did you choose Spectrum Health for your residency/fellowship? I chose Spectrum Health because of the people. The best hospitals are defined by the people who represent them and everyone I have interacted with have all been great. It is evident that their goal is to deliver the best medicine to their patients and treat them as well as their staff like family. This is something that I have made a top priority in my training and am very excited to be joining the Spectrum Health family.
What are your clinical interests? Trauma, emergency surgery and surgical critical care.
Hobbies: Spending time with my family, cooking, baking, and photography.

Why did you choose Spectrum Health for your residency/fellowship? I was born as a Kurd in Syria, fled to Germany at the age of 9 then relocated to US at the age of 15 to pursue the American Dream of becoming one the first Kurdish American Trauma surgeon in the US. I was impressed by the diversity among the faculty and their commitment to education. I believe that SH has all the necessary tools to help me become an excellent surgical intensivist/trauma surgeon.
What are your clinical interests? I have particular clinical interests in complex polytrauma and emergency general surgery.
Hobbies: In my free time I enjoy working out, outdoor activities, playing soccer and spending time with my family.
