Learn from a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator how to pursue the goal of a non-medicated birth experience. This is similar to our Understanding Birth class, but goes more in-depth with comfort techniques and understanding the body’s pain response during a low-intervention birth. You will learn about the impact of birth hormones, the physical and emotional stages of labor, postpartum recovery, and infant care. The series empowers you to trust the birthing process, advocate for yourself, and stay calm when plans may change.

Learn what to expect if you are planning for a Cesarean birth including surgical prep, procedure details, breastfeeding after surgery, and recovery in the hospital and at home.

This class is taught by a pelvic floor physical therapist who specializes in care of the pregnant and postpartum patient. It will include information on the pelvic floor and core tissue changes during pregnancy as well as common issues like pain, incontinence, and diastasis during pregnancy. Information will also be provided about how to prepare the pelvic floor for birth and how to be prepared for postpartum recovery. This class one hour class will allow time for interactive questions and will provide external resources to help you feel your best during pregnancy and prepare for birth.
