Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital

Extra Life Grand Rapids

Extra Life Grand Rapids gamers play for Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Participants fundraise year-round, from weekend tournaments to gaming marathons. Since 2010, Extra Lifers have raised over $338,000 to help transform children’s lives with personalized medical care at HDVCH. By participating in Extra Life, or making a gift to a participant, you are helping sustain more than twenty programs and services that rely on philanthropy to continue.

How to participate in Extra Life

Sign up: Pledge to play games at home or online on any day that works for you. 

Fundraise and recruit: Ask family and friends to donate and recruit other to join your team.

Play games: Play games, have fun, and help kids at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital

Upcoming events

Extra Life United – April 12: Extra Life United (ELU) is a two-day tournament that is held in coordination with Children's Hospitals Week. Everyone who registers for ELU is invited to compete in the gaming tournament, where the top 16 finishers in each game bracket can earn dollars toward their fundraising goal.

Tabletop Appreciation Weekend – August 19: Throughout the month of August, Extra Life will be celebrating #ExtraLifeTabletop with Tabletop Appreciation Weekend happening August 19 – 22, 2022.

Game Day – November 5: Extra Lifers pledge to play for 24 hours and spread awareness for pediatric health care. Or, they can create their own game day or days, breaking up the 24 hours into 1-2 hour mini-sessions.
