2018 Surgical Patient Optimization Summit

Friday, May 18, 2018
7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Amway Grand Plaza Hotel
Ambassador Ballroom
187 Monroe Avenue NW
Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503

In collaboration with Anesthesia Practice Consultants, the West Michigan Clinically Integrated Network and Priority Health, this single day summit will review patient surgical risk factors and how they affect surgical outcomes.

This is a complex issue extending beyond what happens intra-operatively. Research shows that patient optimization before surgery results in shorter lengths of stay, fewer infections and readmissions, and lower overall cost of care. In today’s rapidly evolving value-based environment, surgical patient optimization will become critically important.

Discussion topics will include:

  • High-value, collaborative optimization practices
  • Payer perspective on risk factors and outcomes
  • Risk factors contributing to surgical complications

Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, participants will understand how surgical patient optimization will reduce/eliminate readmissions, lower length of stay and improve outcomes.

Intended Audience
The intended audience includes pulmonologists, intensivists, cardiologists, internists, family practitioners, hospitalists and allied health care professionals.
