Breast cancer will affect one in eight women during her lifetime. When detected early, breast cancer can be treated and cured. The survival rate is over 90 percent. That’s why Spectrum Health and the American College of Radiology urge you to get a mammogram every year once you reach 40 years old.
Spectrum Health Betty Ford Breast Care Services has 14 locations conveniently located throughout West Michigan and performs over 95,000 screening and diagnostic services per year.
Spectrum Health Betty Ford Breast Care Services is also pleased to offer a breast cancer screening through our full-service mobile mammography unit.
The unit travels throughout the community to serve a variety of patients, including women who may not have access to mammograms. The mobile unit will be on-site at physician offices, as well as local companies, to offer screenings for employees.
And, thanks to our long standing relationship with Meijer, we have co-launched a new mobile unit to provide breast cancer screenings to customers and employees at Meijer locations throughout the communities we serve.
The Betty Ford Breast Care Services mobile unit is a 45-foot clinic on wheels that uses state-of-the-art digital technology. Both of our mobile mammography units utilize the same 2D/3D (tomosynthesis) digital technology as our other 14 Betty Ford Breast Care Services sites. You will be welcomed in a comfortable registration and waiting area. After you have registered, you will use a private dressing room before receiving your mammogram.
Free mammograms will be available for uninsured or under-insured women. Call 616.486.6022 to see if you qualify.
