In most cases, a patient’s first visit to our office involves meeting with the physician and reviewing the child’s medical history. After a physical examination, one of our physicians will then explain their recommendations. If surgery is recommended, the physician will outline when it should be performed and what to expect following surgery. If any tests need to be performed prior to the surgery, our staff will assist in scheduling them. Following surgery, the physician will visit the child and family and discuss follow up care.
Meet Our Team
We are led by a dedicated group of board-certified physicians, all of whom have specialized training and experience in children’s surgery. The team works closely with other subspecialties and departments at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital to provide coordinated, comprehensive and kid friendly care. These specialists include anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, pediatric hematologists/oncologists, radiologists, psychologists, social services and child life specialists.
