Spectrum Health Irish Jig 5K Canceled
At Spectrum Health, our priority is to help prevent the spread of infection and keep the community healthy and safe. As a result, the 37th annual Spectrum Health Irish Jig 5K has been canceled. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
We’ve learned from the spread of COVID-19 in communities across the nation and abroad that social distancing and reducing person-to-person contact are effective means of prevention. We believe canceling large events such as the Irish Jig is one of the best actions we can take to slow the spread of COVID-19 within our community.
All race registrants will be mailed their Irish Jig T-shirt and be refunded their Irish Jig entry fee.
Refund information may be found on our registration page.
The Spectrum Health Irish Jig 5K is a beloved event. It is also one of the largest 5K events in West Michigan, drawing more than 4,000 participants, 2,000 spectators and 300 volunteers and vendors to East Grand Rapids High School and City of East Grand Rapids. Canceling the event is consistent with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services recommendations for COVID-19 community mitigation strategies.
We thank our race participants, local and regional running community, and volunteers for their support and understanding as we take measures to keep the community safe.
We look forward to seeing you next year at the Spectrum Health Irish Jig on March 20, 2021.
