National Network to Innovate for COVID-19 and Adult Vaccine Equity (NNICE)
Spectrum Health and Spectrum Health Healthier Communities is partnering with Michigan State University and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to tackle several influential factors affecting COVID-19 vaccination rates in West Michigan Black communities and to support community-driven, grassroots efforts to increase African American vaccination rates in Grand Rapids and Muskegon.
Healthier Communities has established two Black Vaccination Resource Committees, one in Grand Rapids and one in Muskegon. The people on these committees, with administrative and data support from health systems and health departments, will be the sole decision makers in funding a network of grassroots organizations to implement a Black vaccination strategy across four focus areas:
"Grant aims to boost COVID-19 vaccination rate in Black communities" - MLive
"New partnership aims to increase Black vaccination rates in Kent County" - WZZM
"Grants aim to raise COVID-19 vaccination rates in Black communities" - WoodTV
"Spectrum Health receives grant to improve Black vaccination rates in West Michigan" - FOX17
