MyChart is the platform Spectrum Health and the Spectrum Health app use to offer you personalized and secure online access to your medical records. It securely enables you to use the internet to help manage and receive information about your health. With MyChart, you can:
- View your health record
- View test results
- Request prescription refills
- Communicate with your care team
- Pay your bills online
- Confirm your appointment and electronically check-in to complete pre-visit paperwork online before your appointment
- Get care through video visits
- Keep track of your health using your smart phone and/or tablet when you download the Spectrum Health app
No. MyChart is free for our patients and their proxies.
From the main MyChart screen, simply click the “Create an Account” link and follow the step by step instructions.
If your MyChart account is with a different health care system, you will need to create a new account.
Yes, you can message the office of the Spectrum Health providers you’ve seen in the past three years. Your provider should be listed under “New Medical Question”. If their name is not listed, contact the provider’s office and ask to have them added to your "Care Team" as a Primary Care provider or ask to schedule an upcoming appointment or office visit.
You’ll get an email when a new result is in MyChart. Most results are released twice daily, some may take several days, depending on the complexity of the test. In addition, certain sensitive tests are not released to your MyChart account. If you have questions, please call the office of the provider who ordered the test.
With your MyChart account, you’ll have access to make secure payments online using your computer or phone. Simply go the main Billing menu from the home page. Within the billing summary, you can pay bills, make payment plans, request financial assistance, view estimates, etc.
To make changes or corrections to your medical information, contact your provider’s office. Your Spectrum Health provider maintains the confidential medical information in your account.
You may access some family members record, depending on your relationship. Proxy access allows a parent, guardian, or power of attorney to log in to their personal MyChart account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form through your health care provider to request access.
To protect the privacy and confidentiality of health information according to state and federal laws, parents and guardians have full access to their child's health information in MyChart from birth through age 12.
On the child's 13th birthday, access is limited to:
- scheduling appointments on the child's behalf
- viewing and printing immunization records
- receiving health topic alerts.
Once your child turns 18 years old, you can no longer access his or her health information in MyChart without them granting you Proxy access.
MyChart is a secure online account, which means your health information is both safe and protected. MyChart access is permitted only to authorized users who have been verified through an activation process. Your name and email address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or provided to anyone else. MyChart complies fully with federal and state laws related to privacy.
