Darryl Elmouchi, MD, MBA
Darryl Elmouchi, MD, MBA, serves as chief medical officer, Spectrum Health System, a $6.9 billion not-for-profit integrated health system based in West Michigan, and president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. Darryl has responsibility over clinical quality, safety and patient experience across Spectrum Health. Darryl also leads the Spectrum Health Office of Medical Education, providing oversight and direction of its efforts in graduate and undergraduate medical education, as well as the Spectrum Health Office of Research. He is a core member of the Spectrum Health senior leadership team. Darryl also serves as president of the Spectrum Health Medical Group—a multispecialty medical practice with more than 1,700 physicians and advanced practice providers—Darryl is responsible for all facets of the Medical Group’s operations and its partnership with the community, including strategic planning, business development, physician recruitment, service expansion, clinical operations, patient relations, quality, patient care and safety, marketing and financial performance.
Darryl previously served as senior vice president and chief medical officer, Spectrum Health Hospital Group, before assuming his current position in June 2017. Prior to that, he served as chief, division of cardiovascular medicine, Spectrum Health Medical Group, and chair, department of cardiovascular medicine, Spectrum Health Hospitals, from 2014 to 2016. From 2010 to 2014, he was medical director, cardiac electrophysiology, Spectrum Health, and served as a cardiac electrophysiologist at West Michigan Heart starting in 2006. Darryl also held clinical positions at University of Michigan Health System and University of California, San Francisco. He has been extensively engaged in committee roles, research and education. Darryl also holds an appointment as clinical associate professor of medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine
Darryl earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, a certificate in biostatistics from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his internship, residency and chief residency at the University of California, San Francisco and fellowships in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular medicine at University of Michigan Health System.
Darryl is a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society.
