Spectrum Health employees live and breathe our mission in caring for you and our community—we thrive to—improve health, inspire hope and save lives. In addition to this passion and hard work, employees give back personally by way of philanthropy as well.
In 2019, over $620,000 was donated to more than 207 different programs and services at Spectrum Health through their generosity. Additionally, 2,336 Paid Time Off hours were donated to our Close Enough to Care Fund—a program that assists our employees experiencing financial hardship due to an unexpected or uncontrollable life event.
Laurel has been working at Spectrum Health 23 years! She says she pays it forward knowing it will help those who need it now. "I can personally see the difference that philanthropy dollars are making to our patients and families."
After graduating high school, Terri moved out of her parent’s home to start a life for herself and newborn son. In 1993, she began her career with Spectrum Health—today, she serves as a community health worker, where she assists families in similar situations she experienced as a young mother.
