Carrying more than one baby is known as a multiple pregnancy. Twins are the most common type of multiple pregnancy. Triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets or more, are less common. If you have a multiple pregnancy, you may be at risk for:
- Gestational diabetes
- Hyperemesis gravidarum
- Placenta previa
- Premature rupture of the membranes and preterm labor
- Fetal growth abnormalities
- Fetal anomalies
Our maternal fetal medicine specialists offer consultation and evaluation of multiples throughout the pregnancy.
