Treatments for Gamer's Thumb

Your Treatment Begins Here

If you have gamer's thumb, also known as De Quervain's tenosynovitis, we can help. From physical therapy and  orthopedic devices to help ease pain and improve function, you don't have to suffer needlessly. Even if surgery is recommended, Spectrum Health has hand surgeons that are members of the prestigious American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

They are statewide experts in the latest minimally invasive techniques and technology to relieve your pain. Most surgeries are done on an outpatient basis, so your hand begins recovering within a day. Learn more about treatments here. Ask one of our hand specialists for next steps.

Treatments We Provide

Gamer's Thumb Surgery

In this outpatient procedure, the surgeon releases the tight sheath within the wrist, which restores normal function. You'll wear a protective wrap during recovery. Physical therapy may be recommended to regain your strength and mobility.

Hand Therapy

Our Hand Therapy program provides specialized rehabilitation in treating pain and injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow or splinting. Our program includes one-on-one rehabilitation sessions as well as education to reduce the risk of further injury. Call us 616.267.0357.
