X-ray is the most common type of diagnostic imaging test. It uses electromagnetic waves to create a two-dimensional picture of the inside of your body. If you ever had a broken bone, you probably had an X-ray to diagnose it.

Fluoroscopy uses X-rays to create a real-time, moving picture—like an X-ray movie. That means your physician can use it to see how a body part moves and works.

Our advanced technology features robotic arms that move around you to take pictures. That means you won’t have to reposition yourself often during the exam―so you’ll experience less discomfort and a shorter exam. Your doctor may ask you to get an X-ray to help detect or diagnose:

• Arthritis
• Broken bones
• Heart and lung problems
• Tumors

The type of X-ray you need will depend on the part of the body your doctor wants to learn about. Some common types of X-rays include:

• Abdominal X-ray
• Bone X-ray
• Back, neck or spine X-ray
• Chest X-ray
• Mammogram
• Sinus X-ray

Your doctor may use fluoroscopy to diagnose you or to guide minimally invasive treatments. Rely on your care team to answer questions about your specific procedure.

Your test results will be available within 24 to 48 hours. We’ll share your results with the doctor who ordered your test. Your doctor will explain the results and help you decide next steps.
