The Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Fetal Care Center is here to guide you through your pregnancy journey with coordinated care between Spectrum Health Medical Group Maternal Fetal Medicine and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

Our maternal fetal medicine experts collaborate extensively with renowned pediatric subspecialists at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Should your baby require additional care following delivery, our maternal fetal medicine specialists work closely with our neonatologist team in the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the only level IV NICU in West Michigan and the largest NICU in the state of Michigan. Rest assured, you and your baby are our top priority from pregnancy through birth.

Navigating your first appointment

On your first visit, you’ll meet with our maternal fetal medicine specialists, who will perform an ultrasound and evaluate your baby’s individual needs. They will share testing results, explain the diagnosis and prognosis, and may recommend further testing or collaboration with pediatric subspecialists, depending on your baby’s needs.

You’ll also meet your nurse navigator, who will be your dedicated contact and resource throughout your pregnancy and the birth of your baby. If further testing or collaboration is required, your nurse navigator will help schedule appointments, answer questions, or connect you to other resources.

Advanced Technology

We use the latest technology to assure we have the most thorough and accurate information about you and your baby. At our fetal care center, we use state-of-the-art ultrasound with 3D and 4D advanced imaging capabilities. Our wide range of technology includes Omniview as well as 3D modeling and more. All of this information is then reviewed with the multispecialty team to develop your personalized plan.
