About Our Service
Time and again, research has shown that the healthier the surroundings, the healthier the person. That’s why our communities feature amenities designed to encourage social interaction and private time in a warm and caring environment. We work hard to help our residents stay mentally and physically active through a variety of services and daily activities.
Our residents range in age and diversity. Typically, residents choose long-term care when they require more medical attention than their family members can provide. As part of West Michigan’s largest health care system, our long-term care programs provide access to award-winning health care. We have five rehab and nursing centers where our long-term care programs are located. Each of these facilities is designed to help residents live a healthy and active life to the greatest level possible.
In addition to promoting an active lifestyle, our licensed long-term care programs deliver comprehensive, personalized care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our staff members are committed to providing a safe environment, helpful guidance and personal care.
Features of Long Term Care
Artistic expression is an important part of your rehabilitation process. By encouraging creativity, we've seen clients improve their visual perception and ability to concentrate. See the beautiful difference art makes as you recover, taking you from blank canvas to finished project.
One of the reasons we consistently receive great feedback from our residents is due to the number of activities and amenities we provide to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
Our music therapy program helps reduce stress, speed healing and assist with improving coordination and balance. Music therapy is used in many settings including inpatient rehabilitation, long-term care and Spectrum Health At Home.
Spectrum Health offers long-term care for individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury or neurological diagnosis and need additional support.
Meals are prepared for special diets based on the recommendations of your dietitian and physician.
Our occupational therapy focuses on the evaluation and treatment of range of motion, muscle tone, movement, sensation, vision and perception. This treatment promotes independence by working to improve skills you use every day.
Often physical therapy is part of your post-surgery recovery plan. However, physical therapy is used to prevent and relieve pain from many conditions, whether neurological or sports-related. Work with our physical therapists to restore strength and your healthy lifestyle.
From the post-op room through discharge and at home, your rehabilitation team focuses on improving physical and cognitive function. With physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists, our goal is for you to regain independence and optimize your long-term recovery.
Our staff offer a broad range of medical, rehabilitation and nursing programs for those individuals requiring nursing care.
We have a number of dedicated volunteers ready and willing to help. Ranging from friendly visits to helping with art projects and community outings, our volunteers add another level of joy.
