What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? During my away elective as a resident, I was hugely impressed by the diversity in faculty, myriad of pathology and emphasis on fellow education. The program offers comprehensive training in all arenas of pulmonology and critical care including interventional pulmonology and lung transplant.

What are your clinical interests? I am particularly interested in medical education. I hope to work in an academic setting, teaching residents and fellows with my clinical time allotted between critical care, pulmonology and sleep medicine.

Hobbies: My indoor hobbies include cooking and board games. when outdoors, I enjoy playing soccer and cricket.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? A good fellowship teaches you all the things you need to know to be competent and successful. A great fellowship is the place where you feel at home while you do that. Grand Rapids is a great town and Corewell Health in West Michigan has already been a great place to learn and train. The support here has been incredible.

What are your clinical interests? I have a broad interest in pulmonary disease and critical care but particular interests in bronchoscopy and procedures. I love to teach and find ways to improve on the systems that we have in place.

Hobbies: Michigan summers are great, but they're short, so I try to make the most of it by getting outside on my bike, golfing or getting some photography in. I recently started renovating a century home which, admittedly, was a big bite to take.

Why did you choose Spectrum Health for your residency/fellowship? While shortlisting programs for my rank order list, I knew three things that mattered to me the most: a hospital which is a lung transplant center and excelled in advanced lung diseases, proximity to my support system and proximity to an international airport. Spectrum offered me all of these and much more. I have found both a strong support system and exemplary mentorship in my colleagues and everyday I am inspired to be better because of them.

What are your clinical interests? Critical care medicine is what first drew me to the field and what makes me the happiest; however, I am excited to further explore the world of pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung diseases over the next three years.

Hobbies: If doing improv at work is considered a hobby, I would claim it as mine.

Why did you choose Spectrum Health for your residency/fellowship? The pulmonary and critical care medicine program at Spectrum Health has everything someone interested the field would want during training (lung transplant, interventional pulmonology, large patient population, pulmonary hypertension, ECMO and research resources with MSU). Begin from the area is an amazing opportunity to have this great training close to home.

What are your clinical interests? Ideally I would like to work in a medical ICU with trainees (residents and medical students), further I hope to perform EBUS and advance bronchoscopy for my future pulmonary clinic/consult patients. The setting I have not decided on yet!

Hobbies: Growing up in Michigan I started snowboarding at a young age and try to get out to ride any day I can. In the summer I like to both backcountry camp and do car camping trips with friends. Traveling to all the National Parks is one of my goals.
