Videoconferencing technology provides health care providers, support staff and remote patients a way to collaborate across distances with greater efficiency and ultimately enable a sharper focus on patient care. Through telehealth technology, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital works with a variety of providers to deliver expert pediatric diagnostic services in a fast, convenient and affordable way without the need for patients to travel.
Our team can partner with you to provide the following telehealth services:
- Pediatric Cardiology (Tele-Echo): This is a remote service that allows a hospital or clinic to send stored or live echocardiographic images to a pediatric cardiologist for diagnosis.
- Pediatric Neurology (Tele-EEG): The tele-electroencephalogram allows a hospital with EEG technicians to carry out an EEG study on a patient and have it interpreted remotely by a pediatric neurologist.
- Pediatric Ophthalmology (ROP Screenings): The Retinopathy of Prematurity screenings allow the neonatal intensive care unit to send images of premature infants’ retinas to ophthalmologists for interpretation and early identification of possible eye diseases.
- Pediatric Radiology and Imaging (Imaging Reads): This radiology service allows the department to read routine pediatric studies, MRIs and CT scans, including brain, heart, and fetal imaging.
