In an emergency, time is precious—including the moments before help arrives, which is why it is important that more individuals are trained in basic lifesaving techniques. The Stop the Bleed campaign is a nationwide push to educate the public on proper ways to help stop active bleeding from a wound in an emergency situation. It teaches techniques that include applying a tourniquet or chest seal, stuffing a wound and applying pressure while waiting for help to arrive. Join the Spectrum Health Trauma Department and learn the skills that, if needed, could save a life.
