Clinical Adviser, Urology Oncology
Richard Kahnoski, MD, is a physician and clinical adviser of urology and oncology for Spectrum Health Medical Group, a multispecialty group practice with more than 600 providers. Spectrum Health Medical Group is part of Spectrum Health, a not-for-profit, integrated system in West Michigan. Dr. Kahnoski’s focus areas include adult cancer, stones and urologic oncology. He also conducts influential research in these areas. Dr. Kahnoski has dedicated his career to managing and advancing cancer care.
Areas of Responsibility
Dr. Kahnoski serves as clinical adviser and physician of urology and oncology for Spectrum Health Medical Group. He is a clinical associate professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also serves as adjunct clinical faculty at the Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids. Dr. Kahnoski focuses on adult cancer, stones, urologic oncology and research.
Dr. Kahnoski graduated from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan with an undergraduate degree in medical technology. He earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan, where he also completed a residency in general surgery. Dr. Kahnoski went on to complete additional residencies in general surgery and urology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
Dr. Kahnoski began his medical career as a technologist within the University of Michigan hospital system. In 1986, West Michigan was fortunate to receive him as a member of an early Spectrum Health affiliate. Dr. Kahnoski has dedicated his career to managing and advancing cancer care.
Dr. Kahnoski is board certified in urology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Southwest Oncology Group, American Urological Association and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Kahnoski serves on the board of the Grand Rapids Community Clinical Oncology Group.
