Advanced Heart Failure HFIND: Heart Failure, Inflammation, and Depression Study

A large number of patients with heart failure also have depression, which has been linked to inflammation. This research study will investigate if there is an association between depression, anxiety and levels of inflammatory markers in heart failure patients.

Advanced Heart Failure Momentum 3 CAP: Momentum3 Continued Access Protocol

This research study evaluates the safety and clinical performance of the investigational HM3 LVAS device for the treatment of advanced left ventricular heart failure that is failing to respond to other treatment. The HM3 LVAS is a mechanical pump for the left side of the heart.

Advanced Heart Failure  RV-DSE: Assessment of the right ventricular function using low-dose dobutamine stress echocardiogram in subjects prior to left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement or lung transplant

This is a research study to evaluate the function of the right ventricle of the heart using images from a stress echocardiogram in patients with either severe left ventricular dysfunction that will plan to receive a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) or severe lung disease that plan to receive a lung transplant.

Advanced Heart Failure  VAD Registry: Ventricular Assist Device Registry & Blood Sub-Study

This is a retrospective and prospective, observational, single-center registry that includes an optional blood sub-study. The goals are to optimize the use of VAD therapy for patients, create an online quality measurement tool for VAD treatment, and to create algorithms to estimate the prognosis for patients getting a VAD.

RV Strain: Utility of RV Strain Measurements in Patients with Advanced Lung Disease

This is a research registry that collects information about the function of the right ventricle of the heart using echocardiogram images in patients with advance lung disease having lung transplant evaluation. The information collected will be used to determine the impact of right ventricular dysfunction after lung transplant.

Aortic Stenosis  TAVR Low Risk: CoreValve Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) in Patients with the Medtronic TAVR in Patients with at Low Risk for Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (SAVR) Study

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) in Patients with the Medtronic Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement System (TAVR) in patients at low risk for Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (SAVR). A randomized clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Medtronic TAVR system in patients with severe aortic stenosis at low risk for SAVR. Patients are randomized 1:1 basis to either TAVR with Medtronic TAVR System or to SAVR.

Arrthymia  WRAP-IT: World-Wide Randomized Antibiotic Envelope Infection Prevention Trial

A single-blinded, randomized study designed to compare the infection rate associated with a pacemaker or an ICD implant procedure (or a device replacement procedure) between patients receiving and not receiving the TYRX envelope. Additionally, the study will collect information on procedure complications with and without the envelope, and also lead system events in patients with ICDs.

ECMO Registry: Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation: Optimization of Its Use

The ECMO Registry is a single center, retrospective and prospective, observational registry. The purpose is to create a registry and optimize the use of ECMO therapy and to create algorithms to estimate the prognosis for the patients initially starting ECMO and at 48 hours.

Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM)  PPCM: Cardiac Troponin Fragments in Peripartum Cardiomyopathy

This research study is looking to measure cardiac troponin (blood test used to detect potential heart muscle damage) levels in patients with peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM). Analyzing the cardiac troponin may reveal the amount of heart muscle involved and potential for recovery. The blood samples will also be stored with other patients' samples for future research related to PPCM.

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)  LED: Lower Extremity Arterial Duplex Evaluation for Peripheral Arterial Disease Utilizing DEFINITY Imaging Agent

DEFINITY® is an injectable medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use during echocardiograms (ultrasounds of the heart) to improve image quality and clarity. The purpose of this study is to compare arterial duplex imaging of the lower extremities (ultrasound of the legs) with DEFINITY® compared with routine arterial duplex imaging of the lower extremities (ultrasound of the legs) without DEFINITY® among patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).

Pulmonary Hypertension (PH)  INCREASE: A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blinded, Placebo-Controlled Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of Inhaled Trepostinil in Subjects with Pulmonary Hypertension due to Parenchymal Lung Disease
