Research Process

The Offices of Research Administration continue to develop to meet the evolving needs of our customers and colleagues. Over the past year, we have reviewed and revised our various processes with input from Spectrum Health leadership, principal investigators, program directors, and research community.

One result from our efforts has been the development of a standard process for new research and other sponsored programs that will be conducted at Spectrum Health and by Spectrum Health staff. This process is summarized in the following documents:

The first step in the process is for the principal investigator/program director to complete the New Project Intake Form (PDF) and submit it. Please fill out the New Project Intake Form and return it to OSP@spectrumhealth.org. If you cannot email, please fax to 616.391.9150 or mail to 25 Michigan St NE, Suite 4300, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.OSP will guide you through the research process and will provide assistance when necessary to complete the forms and documents required for proposal submission. The following documents will be required in most cases:
