About Our Service
One of the simplest and most common ways to determine your baby's health and development while you're pregnant is an ultrasound. This imaging test uses sound waves to get a picture of your baby's size, which helps more closely determine your due date. Ultrasounds can show the development of arms and legs, birth defects and hear your baby's heartbeat. More than that, we can tell you if you're having a boy or girl, if you'd like to know.
An ultrasound is safer than an X-ray because it uses sound waves instead of radiation. Most women will have an ultrasound between 18 and 20 weeks gestation. In some cases, your doctor may recommend an ultrasound earlier than 18 weeks.
