Coronary Calcium Screening

About Our Service

This easy and painless scan is the only non-invasive way to find whether you have calcium deposits in your heart arteries. Calcium should not be there. When it is, it signals heart disease. You may want to have this scan if you have risk factors or have had symptoms related to heart disease:

  • Shortness of breath
  • A family history of heart disease
  • Chest pain
  • Arm pain
  • Jaw pain
  • Quickly fatigued with activity

This scan helps us gauge the likelihood that you have significant coronary artery disease. Early detection is the key to preventing heart attacks in otherwise healthy people. This scan is especially recommended for:

Men
  • Ages 35+ with risk factors*
  • Ages 45 to 65 without symptoms
  • Ages 65+ with atypical symptoms or inconclusive stress test results

Women
  • Ages 45+ with risk factors*
  • Ages 55 to 75 without symptoms
  • Ages 65+ with atypical symptoms or inconclusive stress test results

*Risk factors include family history of coronary problems, high blood pressure, obesity and smoking.
