Cardiovascular Imaging

About Our Service

Advanced imaging of the heart and vascular system is a crucial part of quality patient care. It lets us look inside the heart and veins, helping the surgeon determine a plan of action or informing cardiologists about diseases affecting the cardiovascular system.

Spectrum Health offers state-of-the-art technology and a team of highly-skilled, board-certified cardiologists and radiologists to investigate and diagnose cardiovascular diseases. We invest in the latest technology, which is not available anywhere else in the state. This results in providing the most effective diagnostic and imaging services possible.

Features of Cardiovascular Imaging

  • Echocardiography (Cardiac Ultrasound)

Using ultrasonic waves, we use this procedure to measure and access the function and various structures of your heart.

  • Myocardial Perfusion Stress Testing

Myocardial perfusion is an imaging test that is done to show how well blood flows through the heart muscle and how well the heart muscle is pumping.

  • Cardiac CT

Using X-ray technology, we can take highly detailed images of the organs within your chest, including your heart.

  • Cardiac MRI

This test involves using a large magnet and radio signals to create detailed images of your heart. This, among other things, can help to identify any weaknesses or problems present.

  • Vascular Screening

Early detection is key to avoiding serious damage from vascular disease. That's why we offer free vascular screenings for high-risk patients.

  • Stress Testing

The stress test, also called a GXT or ETT, involves monitoring your heart function while exercising.

  • Stress Echocardiography

This test combines an exercise test with an ultrasound to create a picture of how your heart works in action.

  • Calcium Score Screening

Using CT technology, this procedure is specifically designed to investigate the levels of calcium in plaque buildup on the walls of arteries in the heart.
