Neurocognitive Clinic

About Our Neurocognitive Clinic

Dementia is characterized by progressive intellectual deterioration that interferes with daily social or occupational functions. Many cognitive functions are impaired in dementia, including memory, abstraction, ability to learn, visuospatial perception, language function and higher executive functions; such as planning, organizing and sequencing activities.

The Neurocognitive Clinic in the Spectrum Health Medical Group is a multidisciplinary team which includes specialists in neurology, neuropsychology, pharmacy and social work. Our integrated approach to care is ideal for patients experiencing difficulties with cognition or behavior as a result of neurologic disorders, such as Alzheimer disease or other types of dementia. We have expertise in the diagnosis and management of patients with cognitive difficulties.
