Rhabdomyosarcomas are cancers that arise in soft tissue, usually the muscles. These sarcomas can occur in very different areas of the body, from the eye to the head and neck to the arms and legs. Surgery is usually needed to remove the tumor, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. With early detection, many kids are able to fully recover.
