Lung Cancer

About Your Care and Condition

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women, not including skin cancer. Smoke from tobacco, including cigarettes, pipes or cigars, is the cause of most lung cancer. Persistent, chronic cough, hoarseness, fatigue or any shortness of breath should be checked.

The only way to confirm lung cancer is to have a sample of cells or tissue examined under a microscope. The earlier a diagnosis is made, the better the chances for effective treatment.

Spectrum Health Cancer Center’s lung cancer multispecialty team offers comprehensive care for lung cancer. Our experts incorporate their knowledge from different clinical areas, working together to conduct a thorough evaluation of the case. The team approach ensures the best treatment options are identified and discussed with you.
