Your Treatment Begins Here
Let us relieve the pressure you’re experiencing because of spinal stenosis. We’ll address all your care needs and concerns, making a treatment plan that's uniquely yours.
Your plan for care may involve one or all of our available approaches. A basic plan manages pain and other symptoms and also includes rehabilitation therapy. A more advanced plan to manage pain uses steroid injections. However, your stenosis may be more severe, leaving surgery as the best treatment option. Our goal is to create space in your spine to reduce symptoms.
No matter the route you take to full recovery, we’re by your side every step of the way.
Treatments We Provide
An epidural steroid injection is a powerful combination of steroid and anti-inflammatory medicine injected directly in the spine. The full effect of pain relief can take up to two weeks to feel.
This procedure removes the back part of the affected vertebra and may involve linking the affected vertebra to adjoining vertebra to maintain spinal strength. This happens with metal hardware and a bone graft.
This procedure only removes a portion of the lamina (flat, arched part of the vertebra forming the roof of spinal canal). Carving a hole as big as the area relieves pressure of the spine.
A physical therapist can teach you special exercises that strengthen nearby muscles and ease stress on connecting tendons and ligaments.
When dealing with back and neck pain, it’s important to start with conservative care, such as physical therapy. Spectrum Health has a Spine and Pain Management Center dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of back pain.
