Treatments for Osteoporosis

Your Treatment Begins Here

Your care team determines your treatment plan based on your age, overall health and medical history. We’re also going to take into consideration your preference and how well you handle certain medications or procedures. Our goal is to help you manage your osteoporosis by decreasing pain, preventing fractures and minimizing further bone loss.

Your treatment plan may include inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Your care team may involve an orthopedic surgeon, occupational and physical therapist and even a nutrition specialist to help improve your bone health and lifestyle choices.

Treatments We Provide

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation

We have three levels of inpatient rehabilitation: acute, subacute and our Special Care Hospital. Our expert team will guide you to the appropriate level of care based on your rehabilitation needs.

  • Lifestyle Changes

Getting regular exercise, quitting smoking and eating a healthy diet are all great starts to living a healthier and active lifestyle. This includes wearing well-fitted shoes to improve walking and prevent fails.

  • Medicine

Medications are used to strengthen bones when osteoporosis has been diagnosed by a bone density study or when osteopenia (thin bones, but not osteoporosis) has been diagnosed by a bone density study, including if a bone fracture has occurred.

  • Outpatient Rehabilitation

Outpatient rehabilitation services are offered in a variety of settings and locations to ensure you receive the best treatment options available. Conditions we treat range from sports-related injuries and post-surgical conditions to general sprains and strains from everyday living.
