Spectrum Health is pleased to offer job shadow experiences. A job shadow is defined as a short term unpaid career exploration opportunity where a student is allowed to observe a professional and ask questions about their career. This is a "hands off" experience with no assistance in patient care or productive work.
Job shadows are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Shadow opportunities are available on a first come, first-served basis. Students will be notified three to four weeks in advance of the shadow date if an opportunity is available based on their request. Job shadow experiences are available in multiple disciplines at various locations across the health system.
The 2014 job shadow dates and application period is in development. Information will be posted as soon as it is available.
Requirements for a job shadow includes:
- Completion of the electronic job shadow application
- Privacy paperwork
- Hold a high school diploma or GED (if 18 or older)
- Be 14 years of age and at least in the 9th grade
