Summit Nursing Excellence Award
The Summit Nursing Excellence Award is made available due to the generous contribution and foresight of Dr. Linda Cronenwett.This program is designed to enhance the professional careers of nurses within the Spectrum Health Ludington system who have distinguished themselves through their commitment to improving health care, specifically by enhancing patient-centeredness, teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, safety and reliability, and/or evidence-based practice. Nurses in basic or advanced practice roles and in clinical or frontline management positions are eligible.
Stefan Fabaz Memorial Scholarship
The Stefan Fabaz Memorial Scholarship is made available due to the generosity and kindness of Anthony G. Fabaz, DO and Candace Fabaz and in honor of their son Stefan. This program is designed to enhance the professional careers of employees within Spectrum Health Ludington hospital by providing financial assistance for continuing education in the medical field at an accredited college, university, or approved institution. Employees in basic or advanced practice roles are eligible.
Stefan served in a medical unit in Kuwait in 2003. He was working part time as a nurse in a small hospital in Dillon, Montana, while finishing undergrad course work at the Dillon campus of University of Montana when he was killed tragically in a car accident in 2006, at the age of 28. He was planning to become a Physician’s Assistant and live in Montana. His interests include hunting, carpentry, skiing and ranching, as well as medicine. He was kind, had a great sense of humor and was always ready to help. He liked to learn new things, and wanted to do each job well.
