International Scholar Research Fellowship

Opportunities for Medical Education Graduates

The Spectrum Health International Scholar Research Fellowship Program is a collaborative partnership between Spectrum Health, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners (GRMEP).

The program provides medical education graduates from outside the United States the opportunity to further their clinical research and advance their professional development under the mentorship of Spectrum Health physicians who are also accomplished researchers.

The direct costs of the program, including administrative costs, fellow salary and benefits, Spectrum Health mentor stipend, and MSU Chair efforts, will be paid by the international entity supporting the scholar’s training.

The application process is not difficult, but is expected to take 4-6 months to complete all steps from submitting an application to the scholar’s J-1 visa approval.
