Biography:
David Scheeres, MD, is a board-certified surgeon. He received his bachelor's degree from Calvin College and his medical degree from Wayne State University's School of Medicine. Dr. Scheeres completed his internship and residency at Butterworth Hospital/Michigan State University's General Surgery Residency. He also completed a surgical endoscopy fellowship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, and a biliary research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Scheeres is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Central Surgical Society and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
Dr. Scheeres is an associate professor of surgery at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Grand Rapids Campus. He is also the lead clerkship director for senior surgery.
