Patient & Family Experience
|
An exceptional patient and family experience is indispensable to how Spectrum Health defines performance. Excellence starts with the clinical care we offer, but it doesn't end there.
Our physicians and staff engage patients and families in caring conversations. We explain complex terms and procedures in plain language. We listen, and we ensure that our physical environments are comforting and supportive.
Quite often, it's the little things we do that make a big difference. We engage patients and families to help improve all aspects of their experience, and ask how we can better our delivery of care.
Past patients participate on Spectrum Health's Patient and Family Advisory Councils. These individuals help us improve the entire patient experience by providing valuable feedback on our facilities, menus and medical technology. They have been instrumental in a number of our successes.
- They gave valuable input in the design and operation of the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, including foods served in the café and the design of chemotherapy surroundings.
- They offered feedback on the Blodgett Hospital new room design.
- They provided insight on the new wayfinding system.
- They provided insight and testing on the myStation interactive patient console.
