What Is CARF Accreditation?

CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1966 to promote quality rehabilitation services. Its accreditation is like a "seal of quality" on an organization. CARF has examined how Spectrum Health Rehab and Nursing Centers and Spectrum Health Neuro Rehabilitation Services operate, including interviewing our staff members, reviewing our policies and practices, and touring our facilities. Only organizations that meet CARF's standards of quality and service earn accreditation.

What Does It Mean for Patients?

Our participation and adherence to CARF standards means that we are dedicated to continually improving by examining patient health outcomes and surveying patients about their experiences. Accreditation also validates the quality of our care and services, including:

  • Employing qualified professional staff
  • Personalizing care plans to fit the needs of individual patients
  • Providing patient-centered care, including prompt response to patient needs and questions

Why Does CARF Accreditation Matter?

Earning this accreditation shows that Spectrum Health Rehab and Nursing Centers and Spectrum Health Neuro Rehabilitation Services are committed to focusing on the best health outcome for our patients. It also means we are committed to continually improving our quality and services and to seeking feedback from our patients.
