Belding and Lakeview Youth Clinics

Take Care of Yourself

Area youth have a new resource to receive primary medical care – Belding Youth Clinic and Lakeview Youth Clinic. These clinics, operated by Spectrum Health United & Kelsey Hospitals are partnering with Belding Public Schools and Lakeview Community Schools to address the medical, social-emotional, developmental needs of adolescents ages 10-21.

Each youth clinic is a school-linked adolescent health center. The practice takes a team approach to care, allowing the adolescent, his or her parents and the healthcare provider to become partners in decision making. Employees are highly involved in the surrounding communities and have access to resources such as social service agencies and human services organizations.

Unlike general health clinics, our youth clinics offer a comprehensive array of services designed to meet the needs of the youth population. Services and specialties include:
  • Annual physicals
  • Comprehensive routine health care
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Eating disorders and obesity
  • Health education
  • Illness and injury treatment
  • Immunizations (including Tetanus, Meningococcal, HPV)
  • Life skills and goal setting
  • Patient advocacy with outside agencies
  • Referrals to specialized physicians, mental health professionals and dentists
  • Relationship, interpersonal, school and behavioral issues
  • Preventative services
  • Self injurious behaviors
  • Sexually transmitted infections
  • Substance abuse
The Belding and Lakeview Youth Clinics are open to adolescents ages 10-21 from all communities. No adolescent will be turned away due to inability to pay.

In addition to clinic services, the Belding and Lakeview Youth Clinics provide various intervention activities occurring within Belding Public Schools and Lakeview Community Schools. These clinical interventions will be presented to students in the form of wellness programs. Staff will help students understand how preventive measures can help them avoid both short-term and long-term consequences of poor decisions.
