Michigan's only flight-physician staffed air medical transport program
Aero Med transports individuals from the scenes of accidents and community hospitals to Spectrum Health. The helicopter is staffed with physicians and nurses who perform in-flight emergency care. There is an aircraft in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and a second aircraft in Big Rapids that operates part time during peak hours.
Aero Med is nationally recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems. Aero Med has logged more than 13,100 safe patient flights, more than 13,350 safe flight hours and has earned safety awards for 20 consecutive years. Aero Med is owned and operated by Spectrum Health Hospitals.
